I am surprised Gerald Spicer (Opinion, March 8) is hot under the collar regarding the air-polluting, gas-guzzling mayoral car.
An Escort with a catalytic converter and 1.3 litre engine, so as to save on the road fund licence, is sufficient.
As for the CD 1 number plate, surely US 1 would be more appropriate.
