Apparently I can be fined £5,000 if I walk my dog along the Devil's Dyke cycle trail north of Brighton bypass because of the foot-and-mouth restrictions.
Bearing in mind this path is either bordered by golf courses or fields which haven't seen livestock for many years, how is it that the local golf club can carry on operating on land immediately adjacent to fields where livestock presently grazes?
I am also barred from walking in Stanmer Park but I see the travellers, who have been there many months, are still desecrating this beautiful part of the countryside and flouting the foot-and-mouth regulations.
I, like most people, am happy to comply with any restrictions to get rid of this dreadful disease but please ensure we all play by the same rules or else they will soon lose their credibility.
