Why are people driving cars in the city centre? I can explain. The very bad bus system which runs through Brighton and Hove.
On a recent Monday, the No 80 bus timed at 1.39pm from Lewes Road to Brighton station was non-existent.
A week later, the same bus timed at 1.43pm from the Open Market to Brighton station flew past without stopping.
Not being able to wait for the next No 80, I boarded a bus for Churchill Square and asked the driver to lodge a complaint. The rather curt reply was to "ring the company".
Another case of a victim having to pay for a telephone call to point out the inefficiency of the company.
