Brighton's excellent run in the Kent and Sussex Regional League continued with a hard-fought 3-1 win away to Folkestone.

Trailing at half time, Brighton drew level in the second half when Richard Love scored from open play. Paul Daniels bravely put the visitors ahead and Love netted again to seal victory for Brighton.

Skipper Carlo Missirian said: "It was a monumental performance. It was a difficult pitch and they were physical opposition. But we rolled our sleeves up and got stuck in."

Brighton remain third as the top two, Holcombe and Tulse Hill, both recorded convincing wins.

Fourth placed Horsham bounced back from from an 8-2 defeat the previous week to win 9-1 at BBHC. Mark Ansell scored five and also set up two others. Richard Lowe netted twice and there was one apiece for Andy Down and Andy Simmons.

Crawley stay one place behind Horsham after a 1-1 draw at home to Blackheath.

At the bottom, Middleton and Bognor gave themselves a lifeline with a 3-2 win over Sussex rivals Mid Sussex.

Mark Pacey and Brian Lock put M&B 2-0 ahead but Mids responded with goals from Phil Middleton and Duncan Wood-Allum pulling them level. However, from the restart following the equaliser, Richard Sabin showed some great skills to snatch a winner for the hosts.

Horsham ladies suffered a 5-0 defeat against Wimbledon in the Southern Premier.
