Pagham have cut the gap on leaders Horsham YMCA to four points with four games in hand.

YM had defender Phil Fitzgerald dismissed as they lost 2-0 at Eastbourne United, ending their run of ten straight wins. Tobi Hutchison struck twice in the space of two minutes to effectively settle the contest in the first quarter.

He rounded off great work by Keiron White for the first, then converted the rebound after Ian Dickens' penalty, given for handball by Fitzgerald, was pushed onto the post by Jason Dumbrill.

Delighted United boss Micky French praised a man-of-the-match display from Dave Harris and added: "It was a tremendous team performance from start to finish."

Former Epsom midfielder Steve Latuske made his home debut as United completed a notable double over their high-flying opponents.

YM boss John Suter admitted: "Eastbourne deserved it. We lost the game when we still had 11 players on the pitch."

Pagham boss Richie Reynolds saw his side beat Redhill 2-1, then declared: "We were awful."

Steve Poulton rewarded a bright start by the hosts with a six-yard finish but they were below their best from then on.

Lee Stevens charged down a clearance for the second before Junior Kamara put Redhill back in the match.

Reynolds said: "I have fancied our chances for some time but we are not playing well at the moment."

Reynolds may give new signing Anton Romasz a run in the midweek game at home to Littlehampton.

The Marigolds provided Hassocks with a few nervous moments in the first half at The Beacon before Dave John's title dark horses took charge for a 4-0 win. Luke Flomo and Phil Eldret scored two apiece.

SELL'S DOUBLE HAUNTS LANCING Stuart Sell haunted his former club with the goals which gave Whitehawk a 2-2 draw at Lancing.

It is now 16 without a win for Lancing, who have drawn six of their last seven.

Simon Chapman twice gave Lancing the lead with a lob and a header but goalkeeper Ross Standen kept Hawks in the game.

Jamie Laidlaw struck twice in the first half to ease in-form Chichester towards a 3-1 home win over Eastbourne Town.

He converted through balls from Sid Sanderson and the excellent Tim Brown and should have completed his hat-trick with a free header. Tristan Donovan replied for Town but James Butlin settled the contest from Simon Barnard's pinpoint diagonal pass.

Former Selsey boss John Crumplin suffered a pointless return to his old club as Three Bridges went down 2-0. Darren Lowery volleyed the first and Ian Ford rounded things off for Selsey.
