In A recent edition of the Argus, it was stated Peacehaven councillors gave planning permission for a fast food take-away at 216 South Coast Road.
I want to put the record straight.
The southern area planning committee district councillors, not the town councillors, gave permission.
Peacehaven's district councillors for North and East wards voted against planning permission.
Peacehaven's district councillor for West ward, Councillor Marjorie Stanton, voted to allow the premises to be changed to a take-away despite a protest petition signed by most of the residents in the immediate area.
I'd also like to point out, both district councillors for Peacehaven West ward do not live in Peacehaven.
-Councillor Mrs P Howard, Peacehaven East Ward
