An elderly pedestrian who died after being hit by a van while crossing a road has been named.
Dorothy Stone, 70, from Storrington, was killed on the A283 opposite the village recreation ground at 6pm on Friday.
The local male driver of the van was being questioned about the crash on Saturday. No arrests were made.
Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly the driver of a white delivery van travelling towards Storrington and a person who bought petrol at the local Tesco garage and told the assistant he had witnessed the accident.
