A 15-year-old girl fought off a man who tried to pull her into a car as she walked to school.
The girl was returning to Davison High School after lunch when she walked past a car in Ladydell Road, Worthing.
A man sitting in the front passenger seat opened the door and grabbed hold of the girl's right arm.
The girl struggled and managed to pull herself away from the man before running to a friend's house nearby.
She was unhurt in the incident, which happened on Thursday at 1.30pm.
The man was white, in his late 20s, with black spiky hair and a chubby face.
He wore a black fleece jacket and black woollen gloves. The car was a red saloon.
