A pedestrian was taken to hospital with head injuries after being knocked down by a hit and run driver in a stolen car.
A doctor stopped to help the injured man and an ambulance was called to take him to hospital.
The car made off from the scene and was later found abandoned a short distance away.
The accident took place on Lewes Road, Brighton, just after 10.30am yesterday.
The man has not been named by Sussex police who operate data protection guidelines.
