Brighton and Hove Council now proposes to introduce bus lanes, additional crossings and traffic lights along the A23 through Brighton.
I confidently predict this will result in still longer traffic hold-ups along this already slow-moving, busy road.
Replacing a mini-roundabout with traffic lights, as is proposed at the junction with Carden Avenue, always results in traffic jams.
The introduction of further bus lanes means effectively one lane of the carriageway is "taken out" permanently for the very slight benefit to a couple of buses per hour.
I write this as a car user and bus traveller.
