A ban on Sunday entertainment is set to be lifted so revellers can celebrate Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
Both dates fall on Sundays, when current licensing laws ban dancing and music in Eastbourne's clubs and pubs.
Eastbourne Borough Council plans to vary the conditions in bulk for the two nights rather than judge individual applications.
A final decision will be made by the planning and licensing committee on December 12.
