The continuing controversy over the King Alfred fiasco is certainly making for lively conversations in the George Street bars as forthright leaflets fly about the place.
One aspect of the case, however, has been overlooked. At one point, thwarted ballroom dancers were vociferous in the campaign. They are now silent.
Is this because they have found a place in which to waltz and rumba at the Town Hall? How, though, do they afford the rent on such a ballroom when increased charges have compelled schoolchildren and others to decamp to church halls and rooms above pubs?
