The Turner Prize shortlisted work by Glenn Brown which copied an earlier picture by Tony Roberts (November 29) exemplifies just how devoid of originality and imagination many of these trendy young modern artists are.
Earlier this year Damien Hirst was likewise accused of having copied a toy anatomical model for a bronze, which he sold for £1 million.
Tony Roberts should sue Brown for breach of copyright and a share of the money he has made from the image.
Scrutiny of the two pictures suggests to me that Brown has added nothing of value to the original apart from a silly new title.
There are still some good artists around, but not in the vicinity of the Turner Prize or of Charles Saatchi and similar patrons of the new art.
