Brighton fought back from a goal down at Blackheath in the Kent and Regional League to claim their third win on the bounce and a 2-1 triumph.

Blackheath had gone ahead after ten minutes, but Richard Love's short corner conversion sparked the comeback.

Although the visitors had Barry-Jack Toohey twice sin-binned, along with Paul Daniels and Donald Nimo, they hit the winner through another converted short corner from skipper Carlo Missirian.

The Brighton skipper said: "We couldn't have hoped for a better start after winning promotion than winning our opening three matches.

"Blackheath have been hammering sides this season, so to go away and win was so satisfying.

"We were disappointed with the sin-bins. It was the same umpire who issued the yellow cards though it was a clean match."

Blackheath also saw a man sin-binned late on, as they had Brighton under the cosh. But the visitors stood firm.

Mid Sussex fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Old Williamsonians.

Old Williamsonians raced into the lead, while Mid Sussex struggled to settle. But once Phil Middleton pulled one back before the interval, it was only a matter of time before they levelled.

Duncan Wood-Allum missed a penalty flick, but made amends by rifling home two minutes later.

Centre-forward Middleton said: "After the heavy defeat against Blackheath the previous week, it was good to see us show some character by fighting back.

"It was a good team performance."

Crawley defeated Horsham 4-3 in a ding-dong clash.

Horsham went 1-0 up through Ian Brown but Crawley surged 4-1 ahead as Terry Higgs and Rob Hallett got two apiece. Horsham rallied with goals from Andy Down and Mark Ansell.

Meanwhile, Middleton and Bognor shared a hard-fought 3-3 draw with BBHC.
