Firms have turned Horsham's dream of a millennium maze into reality.

The Horsham in Bloom group recently asked for help from local businesses for its project.

So many firms came forward that the group was able to start work on the scheme.

They will be given a preview of the proposed maze at a special thank-you session at the Park House Coffee Shop and Restaurant in North Street, Horsham, on July 18 from 6pm.

A spokesman for Horsham in Bloom said: "Considerable funding and offers of goods in kind have been received to enable this very exciting project to get off the ground.

"The evening is a way of thanking these generous sponsors and hopefully convincing others to join."

The backers have paid for millennium benches and the planting of entire themed beds.

There will also be the first public showing of the design for a statue of the St Leonard's Forest dragon.

Once enough money is raised, the statue will be put in the centre of the maze.

Horsham sculptor Hannah Holmes, who is making the statue, will talk about her work at the thank-you session.
