At last someone is talking sense about education (Argus, July 3).

It is encouraging that Dr Jill Clough, formerly head teacher at a high-achieving school in Wimbledon, seems committed to improving the situation at East Brighton College of Media Arts.

Let's look at Whitehawk again and see if what Dr Clough says really rings true.

After all, children at Whitehawk are no different from children from other areas and deserve the same opportunities.

Maybe she's right when she says art and creativity, properly tapped, can raise levels of achievement.

Let's stop simply throwing computers at our children and telling them to get on with it and instead let them express themselves through music and art.
