An untaxed van has been on the road outside our house for six months.
It has been reported to Brighton and Hove Council and the police on several occasions, most recently when it was vandalised and I have been told it will be removed.
However, when I chased up the council recently, I was told it was the first they had heard about it.
They said they would look into the situation but if the owner is traceable to the area and wants to keep the car, there is nothing more they can do and as an untaxed vehicle it becomes a police matter.
As the owner has 30 days in which to respond, I can see this dragging on for several more weeks.
Why do I feel no one wants to take responsibility for removing this eyesore, which also takes up precious parking space?
