Beware the propaganda spin doctors who manufacture smokescreens to
justify the unjustifiable, (Argus, June 26).
Be in no doubt, when particular politicians and powerful officials start using the language of amalgamations, mergers, relocations, falling class sizes and reductions in surplus places, the irretrievable loss of school field sites and other critical school accommodation is not far away, with predatory developers and 'partners' lying in wait.
And when the number of children increases in the future, what then?
Falling class numbers was the flawed logic used by the West Sussex County Council (you know, the one responsible for the systematic destruction of the entire hot school meal service) to justify the relocation of Ifield First School to Ifield Middle School in Crawley.
Overcrowding, safety problems and the creation of a vacant site ripe for development will be the inevitable consequence and the West Sussex County Council is now subject to investigation by the local government Ombudsman.
