I completely agree with Andrew Dandridge's comments (Opinion, June 20) on the crippling effect the Government's tax on fuel is having.

The price of petrol seems to increase almost every week. By the end of the year, at the current rate of increase and in time for the next Budget, we will have 23 per cent fuel price inflation and petrol will cost about a pound a litre.

This is despicable when the Government is fully aware many people have no choice about using cars. Then at the next budget they add 5p a litre, telling us it is "in line with inflation".

It is not in line with inflation. It is in line with blatant theft.
