If Lib Dem councillor Paul Elgood has indeed briefed his party's MPs on the "collapse of the Cabinet system in Brighton and Hove", then he ought to get back in touch and apologise for misleading them.
Councillor Elgood seems unable or unwilling to understand the debate and the vote we actually took in the council. On offer was a set of changes to the current Cabinet system which would have given opposition parties more power, including the chair of one of our powerful scrutiny committees.
