I arrived at Brighton Station last Saturday at 11.25am in time to catch the 11.30 service to Worthing only to find that it had been retimed and had already left.
The next train, the 11.42, was cancelled and the only option, the 12.03, resembled a cattle truck. Of the two posters displayed side by side on the concourse, one said "No changes to West Coast Services" whereas the other included "Changes to West Coast Services "!
Needless to say all station staff had vanished like a terrier down a foxhole. Perhaps Connex should get the franchise for Hornby model railways where there are no passengers involved - I use the term passengers deliberately, since to be a customer you have to be offered a service in the first place.
