In response to Jill Sayers' letter (May 23), are we all to feel pity for her or her daughter? She may be privately educated but that gives no priority over housing. We would all like a bungalow by the sea or good-quality rented accommodation at some point in time. As she refused "shabby flats" she can only have what is available. A close friend of ours, who has been homeless for five years, was over the moon with one of these "shabby flats". Perhaps Jill Sayers should be more grateful with what is on offer through the council.
