CARL Hutchings has apologised for his Albion snub.

The midfielder rejoined Brentford from Bristol City, 24 hours after putting his name to a loan move to the Seagulls.

He was poised to play for Albion against Plymouth at Withdean last Saturday, but Bristol City witheld the paperwork.

Hutchings then returned to Brentford instead, with a view to a permanent £130,000 move.

"I am sorry for the way things have worked out," Hutchings said.

"At the end of the day though I have to do what is right for me.

"I came down to train and play for Brighton, but then I heard Brentford were interested in signing me again.

"It wasn't an easy decision to make after I had told Micky Adams I was signing, but after speaking to Brentford I had to think about my career as a whole."

Hutchings played for Brentford in their 1-1 draw at struggling Cardiff City last Saturday.

He is expected to make his 200th appearance for the Bees in Saturday's home game against Wycombe Wanderers.

Lorenzo Pinamonte, who joined Brentford for £75,000 instead of staying on loan with Albion, was only on the bench at Cardiff.

The big Italian has suffered another swift blow, because his dream of making it to Wembley has disappeared.

Brentford lost 3-2 to Exeter in the Southern Area semi-finals of the Auto Windscrens Shield.
