Jon Lockhart boosted Lewes' promotion hopes in division three in a 2-1 home win against Flackwell Heath.

After a tentative first ten minutes in which Flackwell Heath adapted better to the heavy conditions, Lewes got into their stride and built a deserved 2-0 lead at half-time.

They opened the scoring on 12 minutes with their first attack thanks to a magnificant 35-yard strike by Lockhart which caught goalkeeper Jamie Jackson by surprise. The second goal came four minutes before the interval when a quick pass out of defence found Lockhart who put Tommy Pattenden through.

Pattenden raced clear of two defenders before clinically sliding the ball beyond Jackson. In the second half, Lewes allowed the visitors more time on the ball and were punished as Flackwell Heath pulled one back on 74

minutes when Christian Ayres beat debut keeper Graham Leach.

Bognor's division one match at Bromley and Horsham's division two visit to Leighton in division two were postponed.
