Sixteen-year-old Wes Tate came off the bench to secure a 3-2 win for St Leonards against Eastbourne Town in the Sussex Senior Cup.

Tate spared Saints' blushes with the winning goal three minutes from time, getting the faintest touch to Peter Baker's free-kick.

Yet Saints had started brightly enough with Keith Miles volleying the opening goal midway through the half.

Eastbourne's Stefan Fuller equalised from 20 yards when the home side failed to clear a ball and Town went on to enjoy their fair share of possession.

It was no surprise then, when Nick Barden put them into the lead with a low drive.

The home side still struggled to pass the ball but Kevin Clifford burst from the half way line and was brought down for a penalty.

Peter Baker made it 2-2 from the spot before Tate 's late winner.

Four goals in extra time gave Sidley a 4-0 win at Lancing.

Peter Heritage hit two of them as the Sussex Division 1 side took control.

Neil Scammell struck twice as resurgent Bognor wrecked the last unbeaten home record in Ryman Division One with a 2-0 victory.

Rock's top scorer combined sweetly with strike partner Roy Young to slide home the 20th-minute opener.

And he struck from close range on 85 minutes after John Westcott had crossed low from the right.

On loan goalkeeper Mark Brown made two stunning close range saves and the home finishing was awful.

But Bognor looked more secure after the break as they made it four successive wins in the space of 11 days.

Boss Jack Pearce fancies his side for a promotion push and said: "We worked really hard tonight and we are growing in confidence all the time."
