Rebels, who had scored only twice in their previous four League games, had gone six weeks since their last win against Oxford City and were good value for maximum points.

Sammy Donnelly's men had to do without suspended pair Guy Rutherford and Marc Rice, while Holden linked up with Funnell and Adie Miles up front with Ben Carrington unavailable.

Worthing made a lively start and, after goalkeeper Shaun O'Neill denied Miles, Mark Knee headed wide.

Teasing

Holden failed to make the most of a teasing cross from the right by Funnell before Rebels goalkeeper Lee Bray saved well from Tyrone Hercules.

Holden broke the deadlock on 37 minutes by lobbing O'Neill from a cross from the left by Funnell and it was the former Albion striker who doubled the lead on the hour by seizing on a pass from Paul Thomas to fire in

following a good run on the right.

Funnell was denied a second goal when his shot was saved by O'Neill, and Mark Burt headed

against the bar.

Bognor were left still looking for their first home league win of the season after crashing 3-1 to Leatherhead. A dire first-half performance, lacking enthusiasm and commitment, saw them trail 2-0 and, although they fought back bravely after the break, the damage had already been done.

Rocks' first attack saw Neil Scammell have an effort blocked and his follow up shot deflected over.

The visitors took the lead in the 32nd minute when Ben Papa's drive from inside the box was spilled by on-loan goalkeeper Mark Brown and Leatherhead ace Papa netted the rebound.

Scammell scuffed another chance before Leatherhead were awarded a controversial penalty in the 40th minute when Michael Birmingham challenged Tommy Williams. Darrell Teasdale scored from the spot.

Rocks came out a different side after a half-time verbal roasting and it came as no surprise when they pulled a goal back in the 55th minute.

Birmingham curled a free kick around the wall and into the top corner from 25 yards.

Scammell, Roy Young, twice, and John Westcott went close before Richard Vercesi wrapped it up for Leatherhead in the 82nd minute.
