CRAWLEY'S Michael Alldis will be roared on by more than 100 travelling fans when he fights for the vacant British super-bantamweight crown at York Hall, Bethnal Green, tonight.
Alldis, 31, takes on Patrick Mullings of Harrow, knowing that this could be his last tilt at a major title.
But Alldis will take heart from the cheers of his supporters, who will be hoping to inspire him to glory.
The Crawley fighter is rated as underdog by punters, but he will enjoy fighting at Bethnal Green, where he has never lost.
Alldis said: "The venue is good for me and I am really looking forward to it."
Should Alldis be triumphant tonight, he would become the first Crawley fighter to win a major title since Alan Minter became world champion in the Seventies.
Despite several title fights, including a crack at the IBO title last December in South Africa, Alldis has never quite broken onto the world stage and some will see this as the fight which will make or break his career.
The contest, which is a rematch of the 1992 ABA bantamweight final, is to be screened on BBC, but only as highlights on next Saturday's BBC Grandstand programme.
