ALBION could have FOUR new faces in the side for tomorrow's trip to next-to-bottom Hartlepool.

The Seagulls are hoping to complete the signings this morning of defenders Phil King, Keith McPherson and Lee Doherty.

Youth teamer Duncan McArthur is also in contention for his debut as Albion try to end a run of six straight defeats.

Swindon left back King, 31, played in the reserves against Wimbledon at Worthing on Wednesday night.

The former England B international had Premiership experience with Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa before rejoining Swindon on a free transfer two years ago.

McPherson, a 35-year-old centre back, is one of Reading's longest serving players.

The ex-West Ham apprentice has made well over 250 League appearances for the Second Division outfit, including 15 this season, after spells at Cambridge United and Northampton.

Doherty, another central defender, is under contract with Charlton until the summer.

The 19-year-old former Arsenal trainee has played eight games for Charlton's reserves this season and is a regular in their under 19 academy team.

Brighton-born McArthur is poised to get his chance because Kevin Nicholls is injured.

The Hastings-based 17-year-old was drafted into the squad for the first time for last Saturday's 4-0 home drubbing by Darlington.

Gary Hobson, Derek Allan and Darragh Ryan are all axed after the Darlington disaster.

Ross Johnson is fit following a two-match absence with a back injury, Michael Bennett returns from suspension and youth team striker Scott Ramsay is also in an 18-strong squad as cover, because Gary Hart has a bruised foot.

Jeff Minton is still sidelined by his long-term ankle problem.
