A CRIPPLING injury list has left Crawley boss Billy Smith with just 13 players for tomorrow's trip to Ilkeston.

Andy Taylor (groin) and Sean McEntegart (hamstring) will be sidelined for at least three weeks after picking up injuries in Tuesday's draw against Dorchester. Reds are also without Justin Gregory, who had a operation this week to improve his circulation, and Simon Ullathorne, who needs hernia surgery, while skipper Mark Hawthorne completes a suspension.

Smith has boosted his squad by signing midfielder Denver Birmingham (CRRT) from southern division Erith & Belvedere after he impressed in a League Cup tie earlier this season.

He is expected to be on the bench with Tony Sweet and Ryan Andrews getting a rare start and teenager Danny Wackett continuing at fullback.

Crawley (probable): Blake, Wackett, Stevens, Mackie, Payne, Andrews, Sweet, Barber, Thompson, Warden, Abbey. Subs: McEwen, Birmingham.

ST LEONARDS bid to end a run of nine straight southern division defeats when they visit Witney Town.

Boss Andy Thomson hopes Peter Baker can recover from a groin strain to lead the attack but Steve Willard (groin) and Neil Phillips (knee) are both out while Steve Norman is banned and Lee Wood unavailable.

With Sam Taylor and Jason Bourne dropping out because they are playing for Sussex under-18s, 16-year-old David Temple is set to make his second appearance after impressing against Folkestone on Wednesday. Another teenager, Richard Devine, is also in the squad.
