I am writing this letter for two reasons.

The first is to say how great the Live 8 concert went on Saturday, July 2.

It was extremely well organised and it was amazing to see so many pop stars taking part. It was also great to see pop stars performing live on stage and other countries taking part in such a good cause.

It brought the poverty so many "developing" countries suffer home to everyone who watched it and how much we need to help.

The second reason I am writing is about the swearing.

I feel strongly the swearing by Snoop Dog, Madonna and a few other pop stars, was totally unnecessary. Either the concert should not have been shown before 9pm or the performers should have been told not to swear at all.

Snoop Dog's song was full of swear words and he should have been on later - 6pm was far too early to be hearing such swear words on television.

After Snoop Dog had been on, presenter Jonathan Ross joked about the language in his songs, instead of apologising for it.

The concert was watched by those of all ages but children, as well as adults, should not have had to listen to swearing, especially by people they look up to and admire.

I know swearing is part of society but why should we be subjected to it during a concert about preventing poverty in Third World countries?
