Muslim women marched through the streets to encourage unity in the wake of the London bombings.
Yasmin Khan organised yesterday's peace walk in Crawley with her friends after some of them were subject to racists taunts and remarks.
Others had "bombers" shouted at them.
Ms Khan had urged people of all races to join the walk from the Memorial Gardens to Southgate playing fields.
Crawley MP Laura Moffatt spoke alongside religious and civic leaders.
Ms Khan said: "Our message is that we are one big community and we need to fight this hate together.
"The majority of Muslims disagree with what's happened and totally condemn the bombings. Our religion is all about peace."
