The article headlined "More misery on the wards" (The Argus, July 28) named Anne Meadows, chairwoman of adult social care committee, Sarah Healey, director of nursing, Mick Lister, chairman South Downs Trust patients' forum and Janice Kent, chairwoman of Sussex University Hospital's forum, all of whom voiced their disgust at the lack of care for the vulnerable and elderly in our hospitals.

Now Brighton and Hove Council is calling for a scrutiny unit to be set up.

How many committees, units and forums does it take, and at what cost, before anything practical is done for elderly patients and poor hospital conditions?
