When a West End musical comes to Eastbourne it is always exciting but when it is as stunning as Bill Kenwright's production of Jesus Christ Superstar it is a real treat.
This show has everything. Slick direction by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright, a great set designed by Paul Farnsworth and brilliant performances by all the leads.
Craig Price makes you suffer with him when he is arrested, lashed and crucified and the final scene is one of the most harrowing I have seen on stage.
Helen Catherine Ball (Mary Magdalene) has a lovely voice and the audience sit riveted when she sings I Don't Know How To Love Him.
This show hasn't been around for some time and it may be a long while before it returns.
Don't miss it.
