Brian Snow did not say he was unhappy paying tax which was being used for others' benefit, and Brian Beck (Letters, August 18) is wrong to suggest this.
What Mr Beck and others outraged by Brighton Pride fail to see is that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Brightonians are part of the wider community of Brighton and Hove and pay their taxes the same as everyone else.
Once a year, they put on a jolly parade and free entertainment in the park which is open to, and is enjoyed by, all-comers. Where's the problem?
