I was saddened to hear of the passing of the actor Terrence Morgan. He will be widely remembered as having starred in the film Mandy, which was about the life of a deaf girl.
Terrence lived opposite St Anne's Well Garden in Somerhill Road, Hove.
As a young probation constable stationed at Hove police station in the Sixties, I was sent to his home to obtain a statement from him about a burglary at his house.
After taking the statement I needed, Morgan needed to sign his name in three places. As he did so, he jokingly accused me of obtaining his autograph to sell.
