Preparations are well under way for the Labour Party Conference.
A bridge has been built linking the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel and The Grand so delegates can move between the two buildings without leaving the security cordon that will surround the conference area.
An island site is being created around the Brighton Centre, The Grand, the Russell Road NCP car park and the Metropole Hotel with barriers, fencing and turnstiles to stop possible car bombers.
The Home Office is spending a record £3.7 million to make sure the conference runs smoothly and the police have been given permission to stop and search anybody, whether or not they are acting suspiciously.
More than 1,000 police officers and security staff will be involved in the operation, with police being brought in from around the country.
Aircraft will be banned from flying overhead and the Royal Navy will patrol the sea.
The conference is due to start on Sunday, September 25, and run until Thursday, September 29.
