In response to Matt Pearson, it is illegal to cycle on the pavement under the Road Traffic Act.
It is not illegal to cycle on the road. It is a pity the police do not consider it a priority to prosecute cyclists under this statute law.
If they enforced this act properly, our pavements would be safer for pedestrians.
