Following a two-year hiatus, Omid Djalili brings his latest show No Agenda to Brighton.

The show marks something of a departure for this comic, for alongside the powerful showmanship, playing up the jolly ethnic minstrel, Djalili now talks more about himself and his culture.

But lest you think this all might be a bit too serious, there's are crazy disco dancing and impression of Godzilla being done for benefit fraud, too.

One of Britain's most original comics, Djalili cheerfully subverts stereotypes initially plays up to the image of the scary Westerner-hating Middle Easterner but with more phlegm - and more gags.

A great entertainer, Djalili has an infectious sense of fun and a natural gift for dialects, allowing him to switch effortlessly between accents. His French routine, where he uses the accent without knowing the language, is hilarious.

Whatcs so lovely about Djalili, though, is that he takes you on a flight of fancy without having to resort to the shock tactics beloved by many stand-ups. His humour is underpinned by a fundamental love of people and respect for their beliefs and diversity.

It is the comedy of love, not hate.
