The recovery of supermarket group Sainsbury's looked back on track after it reported a third consecutive quarter of like-for-like sales growth.
The UK's third biggest supermarket chain said it would achieve a 2.8 per cent rise in petrol-excluded sales for the 16 weeks to October 8.
The company, which last year suffered the first loss in its 135-year history, said customers were benefiting from an improvement in product availability and price.
Last October the supermarket launched the Making Sainsbury's Great Again campaign, which aims to add £2.5 billion to total sales by March 2008. As part of the campaign, Sainsbury's went through a multi-million rebranding during the second quarter of this year.
The group spent £10 million dropping its "Making life taste better" slogan and replacing it with "Try something new today".
