"Those who didn't want a stadium were not even given a chance to vote on this ludicrous plan to build a stadium," writes Angela Rowland.

So the days I spent walking around Brighton and Hove handing out referendum leaflets to all and sundry were designed to limit the turnout, were they?

A number of people I canvassed back in May 1999 did indeed express a desire to vote "no" in the election. And they did exactly that.

This is not Zimbabwe, Ms Rowland. Please get your facts right before spouting such spurious rubbish.
