The Smiths provided a sountrack to the Eighties with their tuneful tales of suburban angst, forgotten dreams and punctured bicycles.

So it seems fitting that their songs have been used as the backdrop to a play which looks at the lives of six ordinary people.

Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others draws on the wit and passion of The Smiths to create a powerful and disturbing picture of modern life.

Using music and dance, the show looks at four women and two men struggling to survive in a harsh world as their relationships unravel.

Featuring a live string quartet, plus recorded percussion and rhythmic loops, the show reworks 20 songs by The Smiths, including Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me, How Soon Is Now, I Started Something I Couldn't Finish, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle and Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want.

The production has been created by Andrew Wale and Perrin Manzer Allen of the Anonymous Society. They won critical acclaim and a reputation for high-quality, ground-breaking theatre with their show based on the music of Jacques Brel.
