Alan Blayney revealed today he is happy to bide his time in his bid to earn a permanent deal with Albion.

The Seagulls' goalkeeping understudy has three weeks to wait for first team action after stretching his loan stay from Southampton.

Blayney's temporary move from Saints, due to expire with today's home game against Cardiff, has been extended until mid-December.

The Southampton and Northern Ireland No. 3 will get his chance at Stoke on Bonfire Night, once current first choice Wayne Henderson has returned to Aston Villa at the end of his three-month loan stint.

Albion borrowed Blayney from Saints last season and tried to buy him in the summer.

He was re-signed last month when Henderson hurt his back but the Villa youngster recovered sooner than expected and only missed one match.

"I came in thinking I was going to play three or four games but Wayne came back early and the manager put him back in, which I have no problem with," Blayney said.

"I'm staying here for another two months. He (Mark McGhee) has told me he has to be fair to Wayne, who has been fantastic.

"It's just a case of waiting my turn. I completely understand the gaffer's situation and I'm used to sitting on the bench by now.

"He promised me I will be playing once Wayne goes back to Aston Villa, so I'll just go with the flow.

"I can't see myself playing at Southampton any more and I've said loads of times I would like to come here."
