Now the decision to quite rightly redevelop the King Alfred eyesore has been taken, let us hope tax payers do not have to wait indefinitely for work to begin.
A marvellous opportunity has arisen to benefit Brighton and Hove's residents with housing and leisure facilities for all, not just the minority. It should also include fitness and leisure facilities for families.
If weight-lifting and boxing clubs are what is wanted by a minority then these should be funded by private funds, not by council-tax payers.
Let's applaud Frank Gehry for his vision and get on with it.
