Leon Knight has pledged to keep his cool in the heat of battle tonight against his old club Sheffield Wednesday.

The Albion striker insists there will be no repeat of the fiery conclusion to the Seagulls' last visit to Hillsborough in March 2004.

Knight was involved in a flare-up after the final whistle as Albion conceded a late winner and it cost him a two-match ban.

"It was silly of me," he admitted. "I was frustrated but that won't happen again. Now and again I still get heated but I've hardly had any yellow cards."

Knight, booked just twice in 15 games this season, is relishing a return to the club where he had a turbulent relationship with ex-manager Chris Turner during a spell on loan from Chelsea three seasons ago.

His last two away goals for Albion have been scored in Yorkshire, at Leeds this season and Sheffield United in January.

"My girfriend is from Yorkshire and I like being up there," Knight said. "I've got nothing against Yorkshire people, they are really nice and down to earth.

"I've got a few friends coming over to watch the game. There is always extra spice when you are going back to a former club. It will be a bit special and a bit hostile but I like all that.

"Some people hide and can't take the pressure but I like it when people shout abuse and put me down. Then I'm just on the edge and want to prove them wrong.

"The whole thing about my time up there was the manager (Turner). It had nothing to do with the fans or the club. It is one of the biggest still in England, with a great stadium and great fans."

Knight will be partnered again at Hillsborough by Jake Robinson, 19 yesterday.

Both of them missed opportunities to end barren spells in last Tuesday's 1-0 triumph over arch rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

"Me and Jake have been getting a few chances," Knight admitted. "I'll hold my hands up and Jake will hold his hands up, we haven't really put them away but I think once that clicks there won't be much defenders can do."

Frenchman Alexandre Frutos, poised for his full debut on the left, is already celebrating.

He became a father for the first time on Friday night when wife Claire gave birth to a baby boy.

Jason Dodd will make his comeback from ankle surgery in the Reserves at QPR tomorrow afternoon. Alan Blayney plays in goal, as Wayne Henderson has only three matches left of his loan spell from Aston Villa.

Second-placed Reading narrowed the gap on leaders Sheffield United to three points with a 1-0 win at Stoke on Saturday.

Dave Kitson's 77th-minute penalty proved enough to maintain the Royals' promising start to the season but boss Steve Coppell insisted he will take nothing for granted.

Coppell said: "We just look at whoever we've got next and we try to win."

Warren Feeney's 64th-minute effort looked set to earn third-placed Luton another home win until Bojan Djordjic popped up with an injury-time equaliser for struggling Plymouth at Kenilworth Road.

Crystal Palace boss Iain Dowie hailed striker Clinton Morrison after a 2-0 win over Burnley moved the Eagles within two points of fourth-placed Leeds.

The returning Morrison gave his side an early lead before Dougie Freedman's late strike wrapped up victory.
