Three men have been arrested in connection with a gang rape.

One has been released but two were continuing to help police with inquiries last night.

All three men, all in their 20s, are from the Hastings area where the rape took place.

The 19-year-old victim was followed by three or four men as she walked home from a work function.

She was pushed to the floor before two members of the gang raped her.

The terrified victim staggered home and the alarm was raised by her parents.

She had been walking along Bohemia Road, between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday but she was attacked as she reached Cambridge Road.

Police appealed for witnesses and anyone who thinks they may have seen anything in Bohemia Road or any altercation in the area.

Police were continuing to search for another rapist who attacked a 14-year-old girl just streets away on Tuesday evening as she walked home from a friend's house.

The girl was walking along the upper promenade of Marina Parade, just east of the Marine Court building in St Leonards near Hastings, at 7pm.

She was approached by a man who suddenly punched her in the stomach.

The attacker threw the young girl to the ground before carrying out a terrifying assault.

Leaving the girl in shock, he fled after the attack and ran into London Road.

The traumatised teenager managed to walk to Hastings police station to report the attack herself.

Police said there was no description of the man available and officers were viewing CCTV footage from the area to identify him.

Anyone with information about the attacks should call Hastings police on 0845 6070 999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
