Turin Brakes' latest means of musical presentation, the result of speeding through a Stateside tour, is even more laid-back than their previous approach.
On a whistle-stop tour of America they played so many hurried in-store and radio performances that they weren't always able to set up fully, leading to a new performance style.
"We cut out all the amps, synthesizers and the full drum kit in favor of a double bass, piano, acoustic guitars, and a snare drum," they say. "The music gained an intimate, raw and soulful power."
