I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our Thursday-night tsunami fundraiser at the Hanbury Ballroom, Brighton, which raised more than £400 for Sri Lankan tsunami orphans, and Friday night's Earthquake Party, which raised £360 for the Disaster Emergency Committee's Asia Quake Appeal.

There is still a live charity auction at www.seraphina-arts.co.uk until December 15 where you could do your Christmas shopping without the hassle of going to the shops.

There are some amazing gifts to suit everyone, so take a look.

It is also possible to sponsor a house for earthquake victims, where £60 will pay for one house to be built, including labour and materials.

I would like to thank the performers and businesses who took part and donated to this event for their generosity, The Argus's Kate Morrison and NatalieB from Juice FM for being such stars and The Great Velcro, Mike Ross, Jennifer, The Mayday Players, The Matzos and magician David Croucher for the night's wonderful entertainment.

For the donations of food and drink, I would like to thank Nirmala and Ben from Nu Deli, Kemp Town Deli & Bistro, Ahmed from Bombay Aloo, Jason's sandwich bar, Tanya and the staff from Millies Cookies, Ruth Ratner from One and Ramin and Jane from Food for Friends.

Donations are still being accepted on behalf of both appeals so if you have anything you would like to give, please email meat darryld1@hotmail.com

or Geniene via the web site www.seraphina-arts.co.uk
