I noted the manufactured fury of Brighton and Hove's three Labour MPs over Lewes District Council's (LDC) legal challenge to John Prescott's decision on the Falmer stadium (The Argus, December 1).
I also note David Lepper's hopes to gain political advantage by tabling a Commons Early-Day Motion (EDM) on the subject.
"I think we will get a lot of support for this," he said.
Of course, if the three MPs follow the logic of Des Turner's call for LDC to "keep their noses out of Brighton and Hove's business", they will also wish to discourage MPs from other parts of the country, with no possible interest in this local planning dispute, from signing their EDM.
But I'm not sure logic has much of a role in the stadium debate.
