- This is a double-bill of Hartlepool-based musicians, so be prepared for some serious Northern charm. Fronted by brothers Paul and Dave Mosley, indie folksters Moses are a seven-piece band renowned for their glorious harmonies and bittersweet tunes. Utilising everything from banjos to oriental whistles, their shows have a great reputation as acoustic gigs of epic proportions. Michael T Clayton and the Tallahassee Tornados, Joogleberry Playhouse, Brighton, tomorrow
- Celebrating the birthday of the king of rocknroll, this evening from Brightons boogie woogie piano specialist Michael T Clayton promises to get you jiving in the aisles. Born in England but educated in Londons American high schools before moving to Texas, Michael personifies the spirit of the boogie woogie tradition exemplified by Jerry Lee Lewis and his Southern compatriots. Hell be backed by his band, The Tallahassee Tornadoes who, like Michael himself, take their sound and style from the Bill Haley era. Starts 8pm, tickets cost £6. Call 01273 687171.

Aynsley Lister Band and Martin Harley, Komedia, Brighton, Wednesday, January 11
- With a great voice, looks and youth on his side, life must be good for Aynsley Lister. This bright new star on the blues rock scene has recently seen his band voted UK Rock Blues Band of the Year by readers of Blueprint, the magazine of the British Blues Connection, and he is gaining recognition as an accomplished songwriter as well as guitar player. His songs are powerful and infectious and he performs them with the maturity of a musician twice his age. Support for the evening comes from Martin Harley, an up-and-coming guitar talent.
