Unison branch secretary Alex Knutsen is incorrect to allege I wanted an alcohol ban for councillors (Letters, January 4).
What I did want was for Brighton and Hove City Council's standards committee to consider whether it should consider one.
The committee took the view that it was not appropriate to take the matter further. At no point have I expressed a personal opinion on either the staff ban or one for councillors.
